I am an Italian psychotherapist based in
Paris, offering therapy in English and Italian online and
face-to-face in Paris 16 for expats, internationally mobile adults,
and professionals living in France. I work with people navigating
anxiety, stress, OCD, overthinking, relationship difficulties, life
transitions, and the emotional challenges that can come with living
abroad. Many of the people I work with appear to be coping well
from the outside. Inside, however, they may feel overwhelmed,
disconnected, caught in repetitive patterns, or exhausted by the
pressure of holding everything together. Living in another country
can add another layer to this: questions of belonging, identity,
uncertainty, loneliness, language, cultural adjustment, and the
feeling of having to rebuild parts of your life away from familiar
supports.
My understanding of these experiences is shaped not only by my
clinical training, but also by my own personal and professional
journey across countries and cultures. Before retraining as a
psychotherapist, I worked in asset management and quantitative
finance. This helps me understand the pressures many professionals
carry: responsibility, performance expectations, decision-making,
and the challenge of appearing capable while feeling very different
internally.
My interest in psychotherapy deepened while living in Ireland,
following the end of my marriage and a significant period of life
transition and personal growth. That experience led me to explore
mindfulness, psychotherapy, and the process of building a more
honest and meaningful relationship with myself and my life. It
continues to shape the way I work today: practical, grounded, and
connected to real life rather than abstract theory.
My work is grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, known
as ACT. ACT is an evidence-based approach that helps people develop
psychological flexibility: the ability to work differently with
difficult thoughts, emotions, uncertainty, and inner pressure, while
taking steps towards what matters. I also integrate humanistic and
integrative psychotherapy, mindfulness, somatic approaches,
psychodynamic understanding, and Exposure and Response Prevention
when working with OCD.
I do not believe therapy is about eliminating difficult emotions
or endlessly analysing problems. Instead, I aim to help clients
understand the patterns that keep them stuck, learn practical
psychological skills, and build a more workable relationship with
themselves, others, and the life they are trying to create in
France.
